BURNS NIGHT - MORETON MILLENIUM COMMUNITY CENTRE
80 people gathered together for a night of merriment with dancing and prose in celebration of the Scottish Bard, Robbie Burns on 26th January 2019. The idea of bringing a Burns Supper to Moreton was the idea of Andrew MacLeod who has lived near the village for almost 3 years and was keen to help with raising some money as well as getting involved with the Community.
The evening was a great success with tickets being sold out very quickly and a thoroughly enjoyable time was had by all. A fine four course supper, including the mandatory haggis, was laid on with the Hall bar providing liquid refreshment! The total raised came to £1450 which has been split between the Midlands Air Ambulance and the Moreton Community Hall.
The committee would like to thank all those who contributed to making the night so memorable and have not ruled out a repeat event next year.
Photographs show Andrew Macleod ‘Addressing the Haggis’ and the presentation of cheques to treasurers of Millennium Hall, Joy and Patricia and Fund Raiser of Midland Air Ambulance Maria Jones. Also, in the picture are Andrew and his wife Diane with committee members Sara, Fiona, Sue & Jackie. Unfortunately, the two remaining committee members Phil and Tony, were unable to be present for the presentation.
